Coming to the saenger in April I think... I know someone asked this question about Willie Nelson the other day. TIA

I saw him at ACL in 2007 and even then his singing was basically incomprehensible.

I'd pay to see him. He can't sound much worse than when he was young. But that's part of his appeal.

I think I'm going to... But he's a really old dude, what era of his catalog does he play live? Sit down? Stand up? Both?

He's worth seeing if you are a fan. I wouldn't recommend it to a casual listener. His voice is pretty bad, but his band is great. He has changed up the pace/arrangement a lot of the classic songs.

Not true. Saw him at the UNO arena a couple years ago and he could barely stand let alone sing.

I think that'd be really cool to hear. I'm a fan, but my gf is not even a casual listener. She wants to go but I'm gonna talk her out of it. Haha

He definitely sounds worse than when he was young. I was at that UNO show as well. I think the Saenger will be a much better venue for him.

Saw him at Audubon Zoo in the late '80s...the interesting thing with Dylan is you never know which versions of his songs you're going to get. Alternate arrangements, different verses and tempos. GE Smith was the bandleader, he had his hands full, no doubt. Show was very short, about an hour.

I figure it as a kind of "have to see" that I know I'll kick myself forever if I dont.

Saw him at jazziest in 2006 I think. He sounded awful and didn't play but 1 or 2 classics. Was a big disappointment.

Hit or miss these days, mostly miss. Definitely don't want to hear him crank out Sinatra, though I doubt he does much, if any, of that on the tour.

actually on this tour, he does
his setlists are posted on his website

I saw him at UNO late 80s and it was awesome, three times since then and really hit or miss. I'm going to pass on this show but if you've never seen him, you should

As a big Dylan fan I'd go see him if I had the chance. However, I wouldn't go in with high expectations. I'd mainly go just to say I got to see Bob Dylan in concert.

To say you've seen a living legend, yes. Don't expect to be wowed by the music. Even when he was in his twenties he couldn't sing. Covers of his songs are invariably better than the originals.

That's exactly how my dad and I feel about it. I would hate to drop that kind of money for a poor performance...but come on Man, it's Bob frickING Dylan we're talking about!

Yeah, I was afraid of that. I've got access to tickets for an April show, but I think I'll pass. Now, I've seen Dylan put on some really good shows. Seeing him do West LA Fadeaway with the Dead a few years back was a highlight.

Even in the 80's he was easily the worst concert I've ever attended, and I'm a fan.

Thanks for the info, everyone. I'm gonna have to think this one through ha. It is bob fricking dylan, but if I'm gonna watch a legend shite it up on stage I'd rather not see it. Decisions decisions.
