I think The Scorpions invented the power ballad.

Life's Like a River from In Trance and Always Somewhere from Lovedrive were early indicators of their evolution.

I don't know. Rush had Closer to the Heart in 1977.

Not even arguably legit in any dimension.

Now, if you were smart, you'd have listed the OTHER ballad on Girls Girls Girls:

Only problem there is that Home Sweet Home is on Theater of Pain.

Home Sweet Home isn't on Girls, Girls, Girls. It is on Theatre of Pain. Just FYI

Yep, sorry, my bad.

The point still stands: HSH is not legit at all, as it is for sure a top 10 most famous PB of all time.

You're All I Need, on the other hand, is downright obscure.

There's lots of confusion in this thread, as very few actually offered real answers. The following are NOT under-rated - they are vastly, properly rated!

I agree with your points, except for Saigon Kick Love is on the way not being underrated.

The only reason that I’ve posted any “rated” songs is on the off chance I get someone to hear a good song that they haven’t heard before.

I’m very confident in this submission as a winner or Top 3 and will withstand Scrub’s scrutiny.

Without further ado,

It's basically their only song and everyone knows it - even non-fans of the genre.

I will not approve Buckcherry for inclusion in 80s/90s power ballads - and certainly not this one. If I were going to allow an entrant from them, it would be this:

Yes. Exactly the type of song the OP should have in mind.

I can't believe I forgot this one. It has about the most blistering arse solo of any of these, and I feel like I'm the only one that has ever heard it.
