Do I think jam bands suck in real life? Yes, yes I do.

I think most of them are cat piss terrible as well but you said none of them can write.

ABB is one of the greatest american bands of all time and wrote absolutely fantastic and important music. And they were/are a jam band.

He doesn't because he hates "jam bands" and probably loves ABB which is a jam band but just doesn't want to admit it.

Nope. Don't love ABB; don't hate ABB. They just don't fit the definitional parameters I have in my mind.

Well you're wrong. Sorry. Also if you think Railroad Earth doesn't write great songs you're out of your mind. Same with string cheese and I could go on and on.

Not really that, but if we are calling things "jam bands" I don't see how ABB doesn't count.

So I guess I was trying to see if you really don't think they count as "jam band"?

Maybe I haven't listened to enough of them but I think I have.

I had an officemate once who would listen to jam bands at work. I had to put a stop to that. I don't know the entire extent of that dude's jam band catalogue but I can still hear that terrible terrible music in my head, and it wasn't ABB what he was playing.

How many great songs do you think Phish has? Name them.

Do the same for Grateful Dead, Widespread, String Cheese and the rest of the shitty progeny.

I've been subjected to much of Widespread's music, and I think they have exactly one song that isn't terrible.

They could always go out and find a homeless guy, or some re-tread, or some wanna-be to belt out a few during their shows.

I'm assuming you've never heard the Allman Brothers Band??? Unless jam has an entirely different meaning to you than to me.
