It happens once a year. I listen to some ABB and I get hooked. All I listen to is ABB. Everything from Sky Dog himself, to Dickey & Jack to Warren & Derek.
I learn as many guitar licks as I can each night. Damn what a band!
Any other ABB guitar playin' wanna bees in here?

Blue Sky - September 19, 1971
They released the concert as an album a few years ago. This is probably the best version of Blue Sky you will ever hear, and I will say the same about this show's 'Liz Reed and Dreams.

While I do love the dead I prefer ABB's bluesier more "southern" sound.

I heard the original ABB with Duane Allman and Dickey Betts, Berry Oakley In New Orleans New Years Eve at the Warehouse when in college. I think it was '70, could have been '71. It was unbelieveable for a guitar player. Foghat opened. Lasted from 11:00 to 4:00 am, fantastic. Saw them several other times over the years, but never the same, after 2 or 3 deaths. Live at the Fillmore and Eat a Peach were great to learn to play. I got the melodies and chords down, but could not cover the leads, just the melodies. Best live band ever, no doubt.
