I’m think about getting into vinyl (UPDATE #2 with Picture)

I have no experience with this. Any advice would be very much appreciated. I don’t have a player or anything. I’d like one that would is good quality, but not too expensive in case I change my mind.
Any general tips would be greatly appreciated.
Update: Thanks to everyone for all the advice in here. It helped a ton. I took a somewhat cheap approach while trying to get stuff that will last for a long time.
I got:
U-Turn Orbit Plus
Pro-Ject Phono Box E Pre-Amp
Edifier R1280T Bookshelf Powered Speakers
Totaled to about $450.
Let me know if I did anything stupid, or if you have experience with the stuff I bought. Thanks again
Update 2
I got it all set up. I love it. Thanks to everyone for their help.

Close and play.
Better yet, get a Chrysler Cordova with that nice Corinthian Leather.
Seriously though, there is an audiophile thread that pops up here sometimes, that you should probably check out.

Advice? Do it.
More advice: don't buy the AudioTechnica LP60, which some people push as the "entry-level turntable." It's a plastic piece of shite. A cheap toy. I sold mine and got a vintage Sansui turntable for $50 (1/2 the price of the AT), and it's a million times better in every way. I outfitted it with an Ortofon Red cartridge ($100) and it sounds awesome.
I was lucky to have my dad give me a Pioneer stereo receiver and a pair of Fisher stereo speakers, which he owned but hadn't used in ages. My setup sounds fricking awesome and I don't have much money in it unless you count the $1,000 of vinyl I've purchased over the past year, lol.

This. It's very addicting. Over the last 2 years I've purchased about 170 of my 186 albums that I own. You can keep track of your collection on discogs. Here's my collection link

What equipment do you already own? Does it have a phono input? If not you'll need a turntable, cartridge and phono preamp. There are starter tables that have the phono-pre built in. ProJect, Rega and a few others make starter tables with cartridge starting around $400 that are at least decent (check the MusicDirect web site). Another option is used/vintage or recent models; look at craigslist, ebay, US Audio Mart or Audiogon.

Vinyl is the only relevant physical medium to play music today IMO. It’s all I’ve bought for 10 years. I love having the giant artwork and high quality sound.
Check out the audiophile thread as others have suggested. I prefer vintage audio setups as they were built better more often and sound great still. But ask your questions on what you are looking for either here or that thread and we will help you out.
I’d also recommend checking out Audiokarma forums. There are a ton of good folks that are helpful as well.

None really. I’m very new on this. My parents have a shitty turntable they gave away to me worth $30. People on reddit told me if I used it, it would ruin the records, so I’m looking for an alternative.

I highly doubt that... what kind of turntable is it?

Don’t go to reddit for advice on audio

No idea. My parents don’t know either.
There is a DC 12V port on the back.

Ok. Check out U-Turn and Pro-Ject. Good starter turntables.

And you could be experiencing much higher quality audio right now without putting more money into it. I'll go frick myself while I listen to higher quality audio than what you're listening to now.

If you're serious and anywhere close to Atlanta, I've got a denon dp-300f with an ortofon red cartridge (you may want to look into replacing the stylus, it's a few years old) that i'll let go of for the price of an LP-60. It has an on-board preamp.

I really like my ProJekt player. It's not cheap, but it's not expensive neither. It's $300 for their entry level one, and that will serve you well.
If you like music, take the plunge. There is nothing better than the rich sound of a record ending and having to go flip it to hear the other side. It makes you appreciate the construction and layout of the songs, and you will come to love the music even more. Seriously.
I had a nice collection pre katrina, and I was so devastated that I lost it I never bothered getting back into it. I waited years, and then finally I bought a new TT in 2017. I currently have about 50 records, and I am happy with that. I only buy stuff that I truly love or new releases from my favorite bands. I still use streaming and such for general listening, but when I really want to take in the music I always put on a record. There's just something about it that's intimate.

Its a dangerous and surprisingly expensive addictive hobby

Those type turntables can be very hard on records because they use very cheap and low quality styluses. For occasional listening, not really a big deal. But if you're going to be serious and listen to them frequently, those things will absolutely damage your records. Not to the point of them being ruined, but enough that you'll notice the degradation of sound quality over time.
You can usually find a decent vintage table on Craigslist or Facebook marketplace, especially if you're near a big city. They can be overpriced though, so just beware. Then you'll also need a receiver with Phono input, or a pre-amp. And of course, speakers. Some record stores sell self contained units(Audio-Technica makes a couple) that are good starter options as well.

I had this problem for about a year. My step daughter got into vinyl and had quite the collection for a 13 year old. Only problem was that she had no turntable.
I spent a solid year educating myself before I made the purchase. Bottom line is this. A quality turntable is going to cost you some money. If you aren’t willing to spend the upfront cost, don’t get into it because a low quality system will ruin or damage your collection. The best place I found online that does a quality job of explaining the differences in tables and offers some great packages including free setup of your table is Turntable Labs. LINK Start there and educate yourself and make sure this is something you really want to invest time and money into.
