Thanks man, It's a decent song just not my normal style. Watching the video I really thought she was going to pick it up, I think she was close.
Then again, if she doesn't have a specific singer in mind to pitch it to, she did me a favor.

Auggie, how far have you gotten in this process? I liked your tune a hell of a lot better than the others I heard, (especially the bro country/rap atrocities) which kind of makes me question the validity of the whole thing.
I’ve been on sites before like Taxi, where they’d always give the same general response: “Strong song, really love it, but it’s just not right for THIS listing”. Load of crap and a money grab I thought.
Also, if she does pick your song and doesn’t pass, what are the next steps? Thanks for the solid info, I find this stuff very interesting…

I've had 3 songs published. 1 was recorded by a guy, but his album was only released in Canada. He got himself into a mess with a record company exec. and lost support. I have all of those songs back now, but they are outdated material.
When they pick songs up, several people at the publisher will listen to it, look for weaknesses, decide if it fits in their catalogue. If it fits, they might publish it and pitch it to artists. That rarely happens from 1 of these pitches. it's a long game. This is just a way to maybe meet some people that can help you in the future. Just pitching songs like this isn't enough. You have to really go the extra miles to make things happen. You have to meet the right people and make doors open.
Whenever anybody tells you how hard this battle will be, it will be 10x harder than they can imagine. Lucky for me, I love the whole game of it.

The Hook is a newish song pitch event backed by the dude who writes Saving Country Music. Austin based.
That's cool, but it is more for people who are good or great singers. If you aren't a good singer, you won't do very well in that, no matter how good your song is. That's just how things are. It's the reason that demo singers ever existed in the first place. I wish it were different but it's not.
It's going to help to be young and great looking too.
