Hypothetical questions for you regarding Voodoo Fest

Okay, would you be surprised if it was cancelled?
Last year was a very low turnout for any music festival. Metallica was the biggest turnout. When I think of a music festival, at least what I'm interested in..it isn't Metallica or NIN.
Neil Young had a VERY, VERY low turnout and to be honest, I was less than impressed anyhow.
I know techno or whatever the term is now, is the big thing now, but if that and NIN/Metallica type music is going to be what Voodoo is all about now, I see it failing. This techno fad will go away and bands like NIN and Metallica aren't getting any younger. Just my opinion, though.

It just got bought by a new promotion company, FWIW
Maybe the festival bubble is finally starting to burst due to oversaturation. I wrote a topic a few months ago about it.
I do know that a similar festival in either Kansas or Missouri (can't remember the name) was cancelled on late notice.

voodoo peaked about 3 or 4 years ago and has gone downhill since Rehage's bullshite rape case, which is a shame. i would hate to see voodoo go, but there's so many festivals out there now.

Nah, it peaked in 2007 with Rage Against the Machine.

That was the last good year IMO
I remember seeing RATM, Porcupine Tree, MIA, KofLeon, and Dead Confederate that day.
2008 was my last time going.
Lineups have been garbage, couldn't agree more.
Never understood how Jazzfest could haul in some of the modern acts like it does and Voodoo get crap.

I've never gone because they never have more than one or two bands I want to see and its not worth it to me to put up with the festival atmosphere. I think they'd be better off doing theme days, all the rock bands one, techno one day, etc. I don't want to see Rebirth Brass Band, Skrillex, and Metallica on the same day.

I like Voodoo. I do wish it was a better festival, namely regarding the lineup/crowd. City Park is a great venue and the weather in late October is usually much more tolerable and even enjoyable compared to Jazz Fest.

I really wouldn't be surprised considering how it has been trending. I skipped last year due to a crappy lineup. I'm only going this year since my girlfriend wants to see some friends of hers that go every year.
Weather is usually perfect so I enjoy seeing the local bands and chilling in city park. It better have a much better lineup than last year to accommodate the higher price.

The past couple of years have been pretty bad. I like the artists so far for this year though and hope they are saving some pretty solid ones for their next (hopefully final) announcement.
I'll be going this year regardless due to friends from out of town already committing.

Whenever that is. 8 days since "end of June"...

umm, no. It got very big in the 90s and early 2000s and is making a comeback. It will never go away.
