Learn about them and how they are still the same four members after 35 years, and about their daily practice sessions and work ethic...it is quite interesting.

Since '95, I've taken nearly a dozen first-timers to a Phish show, including this past Friday, none of them having a musical collection to prepare them for what to expect, and none of them "looking the part" of the low hanging fruit stereotypical Phish fan. After the shows, all of them were more than eager to see them again. That's all the confirmation I need.
As for Stern, he was a game-changer in the industry, and there's no denying it...but these days, he's one of the last people who should be shitting on anyone.

My love for Phish and Stern ended back in the early 2000s. I tried listening to Howard last week while traveling and it’s unbearable.
As for Phish. Talented but I haven’t liked anything since Story of the Ghost.

yeah they don't suck as far as musical ability goes. they are excellent musicians.
