I think this was the first official face reveal for Kiss.
I imagine the director was like "OK guys walk forward until you reach the skulls then stop. Great. We need menacing looks. Ooooo scary. Gene, can you hunch your back more? Great. Now walk forward. Gene can you move like you're having issues walking in those leather pants? Great! Just like that. Remember we need you guys to sing like you're not really into this song at all. Perfect."
