Was thinking about getting tickets to one of his shows this year. Anyone been recently? I’ve never seen him live. I’m a big fan of Graceland and his stuff with S&G.

Well he’s a legend so there’s that.

He was the most boring Jazz Fest show I have ever seen two years ago. Not a lie.

Saw him at UNO maybe five years ago and he was great. Voice is stil on point and the band is top notch. I wouldn't miss him.

I was there too. Great show, and I've seen him several times in arenas. First saw him on the Graceland tour and went from average fan to huge fan.

More "subdued" artists often suffer at a huge outdoor venue such as jazz fest, so I wouldn't judge him by a review of that set. Go for it as those guys his age are dropping like flies (or retiring).

Spot on.
Saw his Graceland tour show in Lafayette and people were literally dancing in the aisles.
Saw him years later at Jazz Fest and it seemed like a very low key performance.

Does he do any Simon and Garfunkel songs usually? Or just solo?

Mostly his stuff If I recall correctly. He may throw in new stuff you’ve never heard before. At Jazz Fest he did a rap like song I had never heard before

He actually does quite a few S&G songs. Here's the last full setlist I could find online--it's less than a year ago.

My Little Town

Mother and Child Reunion

Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard

Spirit Voices

The Obvious Child

Stranger to Stranger

El Condor Pasa (If I Could)

Duncan

The Cool, Cool River

Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes

You Can Call Me Al

Encore:
Proof
(Instrumental)

Wristband

Graceland

Still Crazy After All These Years

Encore 2:
Questions for the Angels

The Boxer

Late in the Evening

The Sound of Silence

I saw him in Lafayette in early 90s and was one of the best shows I've seen. Saw him last year here in KC, and he still put on an awesome show. Go.

Was it the Graceland tour you saw? If so do you recall he played “ You can call me Al” twice because the audience went wild. Never have seen that happen before or since.

He played Austin City Limits about two years ago, when his most recent album was released, and he played a very solid set. Here's a clip of one of the new tunes:

Wristband

I was favorably impressed. Band was tight, and his voice was definitely on point that night.

I thought he was retiring from live performance.

Saw him on TV a year or so ago. Democrat convention or SNL 40th or something like that. Was shocked at how bad he looked and sounded, I remember folks saying then that he should hang it up.

The Rhythm of the Saints tour called Born At The Right Time tour. Lafayette show was by far one of the best I've seen. Saw the tour later at UNO but the Laffy show was much better.
