I am pretty sure its because they can get away with it.

Im not singling the crowes out, all bands do it. Casino tickets usually cost more for less of a show. Pisses me off. Looks like im going to the show regardless of all that though. Ive seen the crowes 30 plus times and i just cant stay away.

No doubt I'll be there. Ready to see Jackie rip it up.

I saw them in memphis a few weeks ago and he fit in nicely. His mandolin on angels is sick. Setlist length is similar to memphis and even though theres not a lot of songs, it wAs an hour and a half long show.

That's good. I was thinking it was going to be like 45 minutes and over.

As long as it's entertaining, they sound good, and still give a damn it's $40 well spent.

The reason they play short sets at casinos is because they want people to gamble afterwards. Plain and simple. If it were up to the Crowes they would play for 3 hours I'd think.

They have been posting the setlists on their facebook page lately:

I'd love for it to be a long setlist, but I'm not expecting it. Regardless I am freaking pumped

The sound was a little crunchy in memphis, but it was a festival show. Im hoping for a nice clean sound tonight. Itll be a kickass show no matter what.

They sounded good last night at Lauberge in LC. I guess its a little different over here because they don't allow towels and people sitting everywhere. Its kinda a standing room only unless you're actually in the pool or a private cabana.

And tickets were cheaper than their normal shows? Only $20 here, so I can understand the shortened list. They still jammed for a solid hour & a half.

Tix were $40 each in BR, from the L'Auberge web site (+ Ticketmaster rape).

If I got screwed paying full price

And they want people to leave the show and go gamble.
ETA: MC123 beat me to it.

Went to the show last night and the Crowes are like a fine wine. They seem to get better with age. This was third time to see them over a span of 23 years.

I gotta say, I was impressed with the lawn stage! I was worried that it was going to be rinky dink, being associated with a casino and all. Not at all! Very cool setup! They could actually book the same bands that hit up House of Blues. The atmosphere was great, the sound was great, I liked how you could sit and chill or go up and stand close and dance.

L'auberge needs to book more acts like that, and this thing could really take off as Baton Rouge's best music venue for national acts.

Very cool venue with good sound, i was impressed. Only disappointing thing for me personally was that the crowes played the exact setlist i saw 2 weeks ago in memphis. All the other sets in between have been varied and then i see the same show twice, lol. Still worth it, it was a jam heavy set. High head blues, wiser time, feelin alright, thorn in my pride all went hard. Good times.

Who was Chris going off on and why did he go off?

The "please beat the shite out of bama" remark was great!

Agreed. My only issue is that it will always be more of a festival type short setlist for anyone that they book. Last night was awesome, but I could've used another hour of them playing. It seemed like it was over as soon as it started to me.

That's frustrating.

DMB fans raise hell if the same closer is played two nights in a row.

I've noticed that a few posters thought parking was limited - we lucked out and parked in the garage right next to the stage, arrived about 845 or so. Maybe we just lucked out

We did have to park at the top level - we had a nice time - should have brought my flask.
$4 draft beer in long lines was tough, but that's to be expected
