Have you ever seen a crowd more amped up than AC/DC at River Plate in 2009?

Great crowd and a killer DVD.

Gotta love the wall of basketweave Marshall speaker cabinets.

I mean, that’s a big crowd that’s pretty enthusiastic, but I’ve seen some ridiculously energetic crowds. The best one was, believe it or not, Sum 41 at the House of Blues Parish Room in New Orleans. Even the band was like “wtf this is amazing and not safe”. I thought the building was going to collapse. It was a sold-out capacity show basically in a shoe-box. There was moshing despite zero space to do so in. Complete anarchy. I never thought I’d see a crowd that amped up for a pop punk band, and certainly not in 2019. Thought people were gonna die. Wish I had decent video.

Shows in South America are on another level of insane. Ask any band who is big & has played down there. Just watch Rush in Rio too.

The one that caught me off guard was the Beastie Boys at Lollapalooza '94. Me, my wife (then GF) and her best friend moved up to a few feet in front of the mixer stand and when they kicked in, the crowd went haywire. We had to turn around and get the two girls out of there or they would've gotten trampled. We were literally ducking under waves of people coming over the top of us like human tidal waves. Absolutely insane.

RATM in Chile has some insane videos on YouTube. The waves and waves of people on the floor is pretty awesome. South Americans definitely do it right in terms of energy.

Intro and Testify.

The most brutal crowd I've ever been in was the Death Angel/Forbidden show at Jimmy's. Ho Lee Phuc.

I’m pretty sure Phil could get a crowd rolling back in the day.

I love how in Rio the crowd always tries to sing the guitar solos. They are wild
