Delbert McClinton in his prime.
Two sets a night; two nights in a row.
Terrific! The man made incredible music!

For the most part I am either drinking heavily or, back in the day doing something that would upset the police, so I could see the same band several times in a row and it would all be like the first time....

Yes, I worked the door with Matt Coman for The Iguanas in New Orleans in the 1990s.
His big brother was the bassist.

Yes but they are the kind of bands that don't play the same set list 2 nights in a row. What band are you talking about?

I saw U2 on the first two nights of the ZooTV Tour in 1992. Feb 29th in Lakeland, FL and March 1 in Miami.
IIRC the setlists were the same. But that's not surprising for these big shows with video, especially these days. So much is run off the computer from lighting and pyro timing, clicks, video and backing tracks.
The only dfference I noticed was I thought the belly dancer wasn't at the Lakeland show. But it may have been we were down front at the first show and the belly dancer appeared by the mixing console. When we were at the Miami show, we were more to the back and could see her.

Metallica, Pearl Jam, etc.....are some that don't play the same every night. Pearl Jam has done it forever, Metallica just started the two different nights the last couple of years. There are MANY more big acts that mix it up A LOT from night to night (all of the jam bands come to mind)!

Many times, but only for bands that don't play the same set every night.

A bunch…
Widespread hit maybe 7-8 shows in a row a few times.
Drive By Truckers a few two night stands,
Tyler Childers did the Texas run in 2018.
Wilco a few times in Nola.
Billy Strings, Phish, Galactic, and a lot of Jazzfest + late night for acts.
I love having a weekend of shows on deck, also love a band with a community,
