Has Phil made any kind of public statement yet?

Godamn now we’ll never see a Pantera reunion with Zak on guitar. It would have been so sweet too. He could have pulled it off. Pantera was and still is fricking metal legends

I LOVE Zakk, but while he could've pulled it off, Ol Drake (formerly of Evile) is the ONLY gtrist who can do Dime's work justice.

Check it:
Ol lays down flawless Cemetary Gates solo (7:03 mark)

Evile-Cemetary Gates live

Ol covering Marty Friedman solo from "Poison Was the Cure"

In the end I'm glad we never got a Pantera Lite.
Getcha pull, boys.

Who cares what Phil thinks really? I'd be more interested in hearing a statement from Rita, or from Kat (is he still around?)

As for that insane thing floating around about Pantera with Zakk, that's like a Van Halen whatever/anything without Edward Van Halen. Not only never would happen, it's absolutely ludicrous to even fathom.

Phil posted a picture of a candle with no caption. Guess that's artistic or something.

I know what Phil thinks...we all do. It's no mystery.
Fact is, he was the only person above ground that VP could channel his rage at in the aftermath of Dime's death.
Phil went thru the same shite (pun intended) that most bigtime rock stars go thru BUT he came out the other side, and VP resented that he was still around when Dime wasn't. Sure, Phil fricked shite up when he was a slave to the needle, but was the missing piece to the juggernaut back in the day...and Phil didn't pull the trigger.

While I can only imagine how hard going on without a piece of yourself was for him, I loathe knowing VP took all that hate to his grave with no reconciliation. He didn't hold a monopoly on missing Dime, and I would imagine most Pantera fans feel the same...just a sad, sad situation.

Anyone remember that video Phil made after Dime died where he's rambling on about how much he loved and misses Dime? I bet he doesn't do that for Vinnie. Phil made amends with Dime's girlfriend Rita. I believe she even said he should have been allowed at the funeral. Not sure what the rest of the Abbott family thought of him. Seems like it was only Vinnie that held a grudge.

I think this is the best explanation I’ve seen on here. Vinnie needed someone to hate, and with the shooter dead Phil instantly became the guy. It’s a shame that Vinnie took that hate to the grave with him.

Dime used to say in interviews that him and Vinnie thought Pantera would never quit and be playing shows when they were old like Kiss. That was their dream at least, and Phil fricked it up.

probably not. He knows that family doesn't like him... showing respect and taking the high road by not saying anything.
