Any fans? His self-titled album LINK ]Elliott Smith is fantastic as is LINK ]XO. His posthumously released album LINK ]New Moon is outstanding as well. LINK ]Either/Or is his most critically acclaimed album I believe.
LINK ]Angeles is probably my favorite song by him. Gus Van Sant loves to use him in his movies if ya'll are familiar with a few of those (Good Will Hunting, Paranoid Park).

Where even to begin...perhaps at "Say Yes"

I had a big Elliott Smith phase back in HS when Good Will Hunting came out. And then more recently I re-watched The Royal Tenenbaums and the track Needle In the Hay sparked my interest once again.
My favorite albums are his self-titled, Either/Or, and XO.

Either/or and from a basement on a hill are my favorites. The album Mic City Sons by his band Heatmiser was good as well. Get Lucky and Half Right are both worth a listen.

I love Elliott Smith... Waltz #2 is probably my favorite song and Figure 8, my favorite album...
I remember being totally shocked about his solo records coming out of Heatmiser...
favorite Heatmiser tune... See You Later

I enjoy all of his albums. Also, some of his covers are my favorite covers. These days, thirteen, etc.

I always liked his cover of Built to Spill's "Car".

He was great. I love all of his albums but Either/Or is my favorite.

I had a little Elliot Smith phase in my mid twenties. I don't listen to him all that much anymore because it kinda brings me down a little bit, but he still made some damn good music.
I'd probably have to go with Either/Or as the best.

But she didn't kill Rivers Cuomo.
She definitely killed Elliott Smith.

Love Elliot Smith, but my God... is he depressing or what? A friend of mine visited me when I had some Elliot smith playing and her first reaction was to ask if I was okay. It sounds like the soundtrack to a suicide.

Well the dude was a manic depressive. He doesn't have too many uplifting songs, but he did have an amazing voice which fit perfect with the songs he did.
