This is far less prevalent. However, when a teenager says something like that, you can blame it on naivete. When an old fart says it, you can really only blame it on crotchetiness.

Yeah, it's all about perspective. I hope to be like my dad. He lived through all the great shows that came through BR. He got to help build sets for Pink Floyd. I can still send him CDs from brand new bands and he ends up liking most of it.
I think growing up in a household that really valued good and diverse music spoiled me and made me a lot more receptive. I still don't like dubstep, though.

I wonder how he would have aged as an artist? He was ALL angst it seems like. Of course he never made it past 27. His voice would have never held up to their most famous songs. Would their classics have translated well to acoustic/toned down versions?
