What's wrong with being melodic? The majority of new music I hear out there does not have good melodies. I hate it. Need good melodies.

I know a handful of metal heads that absolutely cringe at clean vocals. They hate anything that’s not basically indecipherable noise. If something has a cognizable melody for the ear to latch on to and get stuck in your head, they think it’s poser music meant for pussies. Yes, these gatekeeping bastards really do exist.

You're exactly right they exist...they consider themselves "metal purists"...I consider them damn fools. Most of the freaks who hate clean vocals don't have a musical bone in their body, thus remaining unaffected by mindless screaming. I like metal music as fast, heavy, and brutal as it gets, but I like clean, or at least somewhat clean vocals. There are precious few bands out there for guys like me, and if you know of any, please share.

Alexi screams/growls unintelligibly and aggressively with the best of them, but the music is melodic as hell
I would put Lamb of God somewhat in this category because they write some great riffs/hooks but they scream.
