I always found it incredible that these guys couldn't put aside all this animosity and do it earlier...a new album and tour would be huge.....I am skeptical that Axl can make it through without melting down and going crazy.

I hope Axl doesn't push Slash into an alcoholic stupor!

Well Axl being batshit crazy and a diva is reason #1.

Rightly so because that is exactly what will happen. It's part of the act.

The thing about a band like this is that it is absolutely impossible to recreate the best part of what made them compelling back 100 years ago when they were relevant. Hell, they sounded old and tired back in '92 on the UYI tour.

Particularly a bunch of guys with the integrity level befitting a sunset strip sleaze metal band, there's not much doubt that they had this whole reunion cash grab idea in their pockets for years, waiting for it to mature like an IRA. I'm guessing Axl finally found the bottom of his bank account.

I may be the only one here that actually hopes this doesn't happen.

Slash should just continue touring with Miles Kennedy. He will be happier in the long run for it.

Izzy was so traumatized by it that when they formed Velvet Revolver, he advocated against hiring a singer/frontman. Basically, "Let's just play, and Duff and I will sing." When they started auditioning lead singers, Izzy quit.

That's how bad it was working with Axl.

Scott Weiland is only somewhat less bat-shite crazy than Axl.

Frankly I don't see it. It will take a year of work for Guns to get back into the studio to rehearse and record an albums worth of decent material worthy of calling it Guns n' Roses. Secondly a round the world tour of that magnitude will take 24 months.

Axl looks fat bloated like Elvis in the 70's,,,,and that bad plastic surgery too. I don't think he is mentally capable of the type of work ethic and fortitude to commit to a three year process at his age. Slash and Duff look great....Steven Adler is permanently damaged from a cocaine induced stroke. I just don't think Axl can do it without melting down, going crazy, and pissing everyone off in the process. It will be interesting to watch.

I didn't read the link, but they would probably go with Sorum, huh?

And Adler still plays, although I'm not sure how much he relies on his name versus his playing.

Link I saw is they are trying to get the original band together....

Adler can still play but was fired originally over his drug use....that stroke really fricked him up.....I can't imagine Izzy putting up with Axl's shite.

Probably just gonna be Duff, Slash, Axl...and will get Sorum and maybe Gilby Clarke or one of the guys from Axl's band.....to much $$$$ not to give it a go....just got to keep Axl in line.

Izzy has shown up and played with Axl on some one-offs and guest spots over the years. I don't know if that means they've buried the hatchet to enough of a degree for Izzy - in his 50s - to commit to 3 or 4 years of Axl.

I mean, that band was messed up at times - like so messed up they made Motley Crue and Aerosmith (from the 1970s) look stable by comparison.

Maybe but when we're discussing people on this level of batshit crazy it really doesn't matter who's a little less batshit?

They could always enquire if Tommy Lee would be interested in sitting behind the skins for this tour. He will subbing himself out very soon once his Crue gig ends in Jan.
