Bb definitely and for some reason after playing for 15 yrs I still have trouble grabbing D. Im forced to play it the right way when im doing hammer ons and pull offs but when strumming I cheat by barring the top 3 strings and using my ring finger for the 3rd fret

Meaning a device or wrap for the index finger. Makes it easier to fret all strings but not mute and supple enough to still bend finger.

Also acoustic vs electric.
While I am at it I may start a basketball camp too. Call it MJ's System. Rule #1-5 is to just be better and work harder than everyone else. Trouble with the jumper? fricking take it to the hole son? Got a tall guy on the other team who can guard? Keep shooting jumper until they go in by your all consuming will, and then start shooting them in his face.

You know what they say...
You can see in that pic above that his thumb is covering up the D, A & E strings. That's a hell of an advantage over somebody with normal-sized hands.

of course i'm talking about the barre chords on the low E string, not the A string. i don't know any other way around barring those.

No it's not. Right? He played upside down as well??? So the top was G,B,E?

He used a right handed guitar but it was strung left handed. Anyway the point was that his thumb can cover 3 strings if he wants it to. Mine barely reaches over to get the E string.

I can completely cover all six strings with my thumb and fingers at the same time,but I have never gotten in the habit of using my thumb on the strings.

This is correct. He used he same chord shapes and scales as mere mortals do. As I said one of his secrets was his monstrous mitts.

Plus his fret range was probably pretty wide, even up near the nut.
And, for tone chasers, there is another consequence of stringing a right handed Strat for a left hander - the pickup magnets are, generally, set up closer for the smaller strings (GBE) than the larger strings (EAD) - with Hendrix's set up, that's reversed - so his heavier strings were closer to the magnets than his lighter strings.

Yeah. I never thought about that but you're right. Of course he could have had his tech adjust the pickup height but it's entirely possible that he didn't for this very reason.
I think he also liked the tuners on the bottom of the neck rather than the top.

He was his own tech for a lot of that stuff, and he reportedly did freaky shite with the pickup height, as well. But I'm certain that was driven by that initial use of the RH guitar strung upside down. Hendrix was a known "tone chaser."
(ETA: And unless he changed to LH pickups, the internal configuration would have been reversed, too, with the RH pickups - and recall that era of Strats the pickups were poorly potted and used larger diameter magnets than later models).

The bridge pickup would definitely be different-sounding because it would be slanted the "wrong" way.
And yeah if he was using staggered pickups (and I think they were all staggered back then) then the individual pole heights would be different as well.
