At bass or at singing? I think Lake was a better singer but Wetton was probably a better bass player.

Wetton was probably the best Bass player in the world at one point in his career.

I personally prefer Greg Lake's music--probably because I was always a huge ELP fan--but most Prog Rock aficionados will tell you Wetton is the all-around better player, improvisor, even singer. Asia gets brought up most but his work with King Crimson, Uriah Heep, and UK is outstanding.
