Green Day Appreciation Thread

People have lots of differing opinions of Green Day and their music through the years. I, for one, enjoy listening to them and have no major beef with any part of their career or catalog. That said, let's go with a top five album/top five song theme here.

I'm honestly tired of people who aren't remotely punk and never were lecturing to Green Day about their punk rock bona fides. They make fun pop punk. So did the Ramones. Asking them to be Fugazi is just the kind of doctrinal silliness we should all grow out of once we leave high school.
I really like Green Day. I liked 'em when they were just a little band on Lookout (RIP!), and I like 'em as a huge arena rock act. Billy Joe writes great hooks and their songs are fun as hell. Do I have to give back my Punk Rock membership card?

loved Green Day back in the day. Still enjoy them, but there's something about being 12-14 and listing to this style of music and lyrics you know parents roll their eyes too
