I would have to have Tiny Dancer and Burn Down The Mission on Elton's.
That was not an easy list to put together. I don't know why I picked Elton and Bowie to do, that shite is impossible.

I just realized that Grace Potter and the Nocturnals could put together a solid greatest hits album.

Paris (Ooh La La)
The Lion The Beast The Beat
Nothing But the Water I/II
Stop The Bus
Ah Mary
Apologies
Stars
The Divide
Hot Summer Night
Toothbrush and My Table

Sleater-Kinney, getting it to 10 was really hard, but I preserved something off their first album even though it's probably not among their top 10 songs just to give a feel where they came from. A greatest hits album should be a document to a band's existence, and I think you should include those formative songs if you can.

A Real Man
I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone
Little Babies
Burn Don’t Freeze
A Quarter to Three
You’re No Rock n Roll Fun
All Hands on the Bad One
Combat Rock
Modern Girl
Let’s Call It Love

No Heroin? I mean, I can let no Femme Fatale slide, but Heroin is one of their defining songs.

I love each of these songs, but this seems like nearly the antithesis of a GNR greatest hits collection. As much as you and I may find most of their singles to be overcommercialized/overplayed you still can't leave off the most popular releases (e.g. "Patience" and "Sweet Child O'Mine").

I'm curious why "Civil War" and "Mr. Brownstone" didn't make your cut.
