Have you guys been checking out 30 Days of the Dead? It started yesterday.

30 Days of the Dead

They are putting up a new song each day. If you guess the day and venue you are entered for some prizes.

Anyone get Dave's Picks 25? Tracking said it was gonna arrive on the 30th, so I was surprised to find it in my mailbox yesterday. Time will tell where I rank it on an all-time list, but it sounds great. Everyone's "just exactly perfect" in the mix, and a Miss Half Step opener is always a great way to get things going for me...and for anyone who cares, my copy is #10171 of 18000, lol

I can vouch. Had a nearly 4-hour drive yesterday, plenty of time to bask in the entire 11/6/77 show. Even the mistakes are golden...it sounded like Jerry was MIA for a short while during the Scarlet>Fire (maybe to change guitars and/or fix a string, who knows?), and the rest of the band upped their game in his brief absence. Few bands can turn something like that into a happy accident

48 years ago tonite, the grateful dead begin a three nite run at the warehouse in new orleans. these shows were the inaugural shows for the venue

after the show the next nite on 1/31, members of the band were arrested in their hotel rooms for drug possession. the third nite was billed as a benefit for their legal expenses, and the band invited the arresting NOPD officers to the show. accounts indicate that the policemen did in fact attend

one lasting impact of the arrest was that this was a violation of soundman owsley "bear" stanley's probation, resulting in his subsequent incarceration in california

I know there are many brent haters out there, but him and barlow wrote some amazing songs together. Barlow really knew how to write for brent, to the point where it made bobby super jealous of their relationship.
