Mid week for either Biloxi or Houston. I’d probably prefer Biloxi due to smaller venue. I’ve already seen them more times than I can count but as long as I have the opportunity, I’m taking advantage of it.
I have a list of bands that I’ve never seen that I want to. Some will never tour again or are unwatchable (Motley) but I’m crossing Depeche Mode off that list soon.

That caricature of Axl on the poster looks better than the real life Axl

I feel like we weren’t waiting ten plus years for CD, we were waiting for Axl to have his plastic surgery. Both sucked.

The current lineup is Axl, Slash, Duff and Dizzy, plus Ferrer on drums, Fortus and the millenial girl?

Is that where we're at?

Axl is such a petty little bitch to have neither drummer from the productive period (although Ferrer is a great drummer, no doubt, and been in the band for almost 20 years, but much like the bass player in Metallica, he'll never be accepted by the hardcore fans who were there at the beginning.)

And, once again, "No Izzy, no care."

As far as I can tell, there isn’t much bad blood between Izzy and Axl. Izzy still plays a few shows with GNR here and there, but he doesn’t want to tour, right?

And I don’t think Adler can physically play the songs anymore (in before someone says “but can Axl physically sing the songs”). The last I saw him on tv, he was quite physically diminished and still using hard drugs whereas Slash and Duff are completely sober.

GNR has been touring a ton with this lineup for the past 7 years, especially when you account for all of the Covid cancellations.

Axe’s voice really comes and goes. He was really good at the Superdome in 2016 but notably worse at Austin City Limits in 2019.

I mean, they're childhood friends who have, sort of, buried the hatchet, but Izzy is still traumatized from having to be in that band at that time with that frontman.

Meh - this was 5 weeks ago in Key West

So, maybe you bring him on to play the Lies/AFD songs.

The fans would absolutely love it.

And no love on here for Sorum?

Sorum should have been brought back for the reunion full time with Adler coming in to play here & there as you can’t trust Adler to be able to play full shows. I still believe the conspiracy theory that Axl has Frank as the drummer to take heat off of him for writing “One in a Million” off of “Lies” which would be ultra cancelled if it happened today.

I got the impression Axl was among the most difficult human beings in the world to deal with from 1986 to 1994 and a much smaller star who was still a real pain to deal with until 2014 or 2015.

The money from Not in This Lifetime is obviously incredible and I’m sure these new tours are also very lucrative, but at this point Slash and Duff have so much money that I can’t imagine they would still tour if Axl was anywhere near where he was in that first period.

Also Axl has managed to show up on time pretty much to all the shows and the controversies have been few and far between post-2016, right?

1. I just don't think Axl thinks that way, and

2. It wouldn't work, anyway

The fact of the matter is the song was the voice of a character. Yes, that character was strongly based on Axl. Yes, that character was biased/racist, but it was an honest voice. A voice with which young black men might find some common ground:

quote:

Police and n-----s, that's right, get out of my way
Don't need to buy none of your gold chains today
Now, don't need no bracelets clamped in front of my back
Just need my ticket, 'til then, won't you cut me some slack?

quote:

Immigrants and f-----s, they make no sense to me
They come to our country and think they'll do as they please
Like start some mini Iran, or spread some fricking disease
They talk so many God damn ways, it's all Greek to me

quote:

Radicals and racists, don't point your finger at me
I'm a small town white boy just trying to make ends meet
Don't need your religion, don't watch that much TV
Just making my living, baby, well, that's enough for me

Frankly, any kid from the street who happens to be black AND a fan of rap music ought to be able to see past the words here and literally experience this frustration and angst.

Maybe it's easier for me being a "small town white boy", who does not agree with many of the generalizations in the song, but grew up with those guys and knows they aren't bad people.

I'm a little surprised Atlanta is not on the list. If I decided to go it would have to be Charlotte, which actually isn't much farther for me

I'm buying my ticket this morning at 10 when the pre-sale opens for Metlife insiders.

Where are y'all getting tickets from? I want to see them, but the site I went to was over 200 bucks for nosebleeds.

Do you know when they start?

Nevermind I think I found it . Looks like they go on sale February 27th with a presale code and to the general public march 3rd if I read that right. How do you get a presale code?

To get a presale code you have to join the Guns N' Roses Nighttrain fanclub thing.
