So...can the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame now induct George despite waiting until his demise and the fact that Faith is one of the greatest selling and influential albums ever? #AnotherHOFMistake #RIP #OneOfTheBest

Faith is one of those albums you could listen to front to back without skipping a track. Producer, arranger, performer - guy had it all. I remember seeing a doc about him in the studio and he could rattle off influences and notes from those influences. I was quite impressed with his studio work. Saw him in concert a few years ago - didn't have much expectations but the stage and performance was top notch.

His US publicist said it was from heart failure, and that he was not sick.

Never heard of Van Halen 3 and don't want to. I know you are not referring to Women and Children First because that was a killer album.

Yall can make fun all you want... But he was one of the better singers of all-time and came around in the RIGHT decade for HIM.... The dude could have had ANY woman he wanted in the mid 80's and turned into something that I was like WHAT?????

Oh, it was obvious he was gay from the first time he appeared on MTV. No one really cared. Same with Rob Halford.

VH made an album with Gary Cherone in 1998. It was titled Van Halen III. It sucked longer and harder than Monica Lewinsky.

Those of you too young to remember don't appreciate how big the album Faith was when released.

Was the best-selling album of 1988 and produced 6 top 5 singles(4 of which topped the singles charts). Also topped the pop and R&B albums charts, unprecedented for a white artist to that point.

Stole the show at the Freddie tribute at Wembley. Great talent.

This thread is about GM, but I couldn't help but recall the bits from the rehearsal with Annie Lennox and Bowie of Under Pressure (my favorite Queen song) - and there is George Michael in "fan mode" watching. Both he and Bowie passing the same year is quite unexpected as they were of different generations -

Lennox and Bowie rehearse Under Pressure

That was a Van Halen cover band that also happened to record new songs.
