I got a stoner vibe, there earlier.
Is it because Townsend says he can´t stand Led Zeppelin´s music?

don't hate me

The Who is one of the greatest bands ever. At the very least Tommy, Who's Next, Live at Leeds, and Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncy are all required for any legit rock and roll collection.

No I didn't.
I could see why a regular rock fan could be turned off by the sprawling epic that is Quadrophenia.
Speaking of, Entwistle's bass peformance on "The Real Me" is easily the greatest ever recorded on a rock album

ETA Tommy, I can leave. Quadrophenia however, has to be there.
Different strokes.

You need to see Tommy performed live to really appreciate it. Absolutely stunning.

Saw Pearl Jam do this in Dallas on Friday.
Do you think Ament said "Da frick?" when this cover was first suggested.

I always felt that way about Moon's drums on "Bargain"...Entwistle was pretty dominating on it as well.

Quadrophenia is about a billion times better than Tommy which, honestly, isn't that good of an album.
And Who's Next is virtually a greatest hits collection.

I prefer T to the '70s bombast of WN and Q -- tho T is pretty bombastic itself
IMHO The Who were at their best in the '60s with 3 minute singles

I like the Who, but Townsend and Moon came off as obnoxious as hell. While watching The Kids are Alright, if they were not playing I really got the urge to just knock the frick out of them. Maybe I just don't have a sense of humor.....

Fair enough. Townsend's *ahem* research was also quite questionable. That said, calling them overrated is goofy.

No shite. Keith Moon might have been the wildest rock star of all time.

not saying they are overrated, I love their stuff. Townsend just seemed to try really hard to be cool. Moon just seemed batshit crazy. Looking back, it's hard to imagine that they were even able to record anything with that guy bouncing off the walls and shite.
