True. There were some great country pickers back in the day, and Roy Clark was one of the best.

Chet Atkins was probably at the pinnacle.

Glenn Campbell, Hank Garland, Roy Nichols, Lester Flatt, Joe Maphis, Roy Clark and Jerry Reed (among others - Les Paul, if you consider his influence and the fact he kind of played a Jazz/Rock/Country/Pop style) are at or near the top tier, though.

BlueGrass is HARD. MM-Kay.

That country picking style does not please my ear, but I can appreciate it for something my idiot "dick-fingers" will not be able to do in a lifetime.

So. Yep. Pretty sure he was badass.

There's thirteen hundred and fifty two guitar pickers in Nashville. And they can pick more notes than the number of ants on a Tennessee anthill. Yes, there's thirteen hundred and fifty two guitar cases in Nashville. And any one that unpacks his guitar could play twice as better than I will.

Ever since the first time I heard him play Malaguena...I've been a fan. I saw him play a couple of years ago...his fingers aren't nimble enough anymore to play the good stuff...

Roy Clark - Malaguena

Here is a better one on an acoustic.
