I can't believe how much I liked that guitar. It was a lower priced model, made in Korea, but it was still fantastic.
The tremolo on it was the best I ever used. Are they all like that? It's so articulate and stable, that you can almost make it talk. The guy had to take his guitar away from me

I have to have one now. Looking through pictures online, it seems that one was a custom 22. I can't afford a really expensive one. Does that model hold up well, long term? Do they require a lot of attention/ maint.?

I bought a McCarty 594 SC six months ago and it is without a doubt, the best playing guitar I've ever played. The pattern vintage neck is chunky, but not too big. My only issue was the bridge pickup was a bit too weak, so I put in a little hotter PAF pickup.

Those look really nice, that's out of my price range though. I want one with a trem just like that one he has too. I've never been much of a tremolo player, but that was a whole different animal.
What got me was: when you made your hard bends upward, it was just like a hardtail and didn't give a bit, when you let off, it went back smooth and perfect, and the same when you used the bar to drop. Exact.

I don't see why they wouldn't hold up. I've never heard anything bad about PRS.

I just don't know much about them. Most players I am around are Fender players. I had looked at some PRS stuff before but never played them.
I guess, my main question is about the tremolo. Do they get out of whack easily, or do they stay that way? If I had a trem like that, I probably might wear it the hell out.

What band are you in? I don't think you've mentioned being in a band before?

I still kick myself sometimes for not pulling the trigger on this used PRS Tremonti that my local guitar shop had for sale at a great price years ago. Instead, I invested a bunch of money repairing and upgrading one guitar and buying and attempting to rehab another guitar. I would have been much better off just buying the one in the shop

Never actually played one myself but always heard good things. I am a fan of the bird inlays. And the custom 24 SE in a sort of lime green color looks sick.

The 1 he had, was more like the pinkish 1, but had a clear amber/caramelish finish on it.

I have 2 at the moment. I've had a PRS SE Standard for several years. I've bought and sold a lot of guitars, but I won't sell this one. It's one of my favorites. I also recently got a S2 McCarty 594. It is amazing.

I had a SE Custom 24 but sold it. I didn't like the neck on that one. The SE's are outstanding for the money.

Our rhythm player has a SE Tremonti. Nice guitar. He won't play anything else even though he could get whatever guitar he wants.

Creed sucks!! Or was it someone else who used them and gets crapped on.

An SE model was on my list. Thats the Korean line. An intelligent argument against them can not be made. Unless FretShack knows something technical about the Pots used from 2008-2013 all sucking, or something like that.

Creed catches shitte due to their singer, Scott Stapp, not due to their guitarist Mark Tremonti who uses PRS. Tremonti is very respected by other guitarists, especially for his solo albums and time in Alter Bridge.

3 Doors Down then?

It’s somebody.

Not saying it’s justified.

I’ve got an American custom22, the tremolo is fine, but it does have locking tuners. I think you can upgrade an SE with PRS locking as a direct retrofit. Check before pulling the trigger.

I wouldn’t have a problem playing an SE for a gig, in fact, I would definitely leave my CU22 at home and take an SE.

The finish is poly, and tough. Looks good.

I’d say it’s tied for second as my easiest guitar to play. Very smooth.

That one didn't have locking tuners or anything, but it was fine for what I will do with it. nothing hard and no gigging. I like to do those little jazz type licks, like from old cartoons or comedy shows, when something stupid or scary was going on. I can sit around for hours watching chickens in the yard, making my own soundtrack.
