Unless you don´t dig Steely Dan, I can´t fathom there being a ´one´ song.
All mentioned are great tunes, I´d add Doctor Wu.
That said, the most soul regenerative song when I haven´t heard them in a long while, tends to be Kid Charlemagne.

Good call on that - was never on heavy rotation - you don't hear it long enough to almost forget they did it - sort of like Queen's "It's late".

Good, I'm the first to post "Show Biz Kids" (it was semi scandalous in the 70s when they used the "F" word in the lyrics. It was a different time.
And it was really scandalous in the 60s when Steppenwolf used the lyric "God......damn the Pusher Man." We weren't sure if John Kay was making a plea to God or simply using a cuss word.

As time passed I moved towards music a little less spitshined, but really liked these guys and still dial it up when the mood strikes. In college we used to put on Decade, smoke & just listen.

That first album corresponded to a quasi band (possibly the second as well), as opposed to Fagan and Beck recruiting awesome sessions men, or flattered stars. I think they had two vocalists, obviously neither were Fagan.
