Dan Fogelberg ... My Dad tells the story about seeing him open for ZZ Top in Monroe in the mid 70's. It was in the Theatre, not the Civic Center arena and the crowd was about half bikers waiting to hear ZZ. He said when Fogelberg came out with nothing but an acoustic guitar and a stool that a majority of the crowd starting booing and razzing him.

I remember reading an interview with him back in the 80's before his solo acoustic show in the PMAC. He talked about that 70's show and said after they booed him he said, "you want to hear some hard rock shite? I'll play you some shite!" and banged out some harder songs. I guess he then won them over.
