certainly worthy, I think most consider him more of an entertainer vs. a piano player. Billy Joel is basically in the same boat. Both can play though...

Piano is one of those instruments that can be as fun and simple to amazing and complex. It's all about personal choice. There are plenty of classical pianists that are scary good, while someone like Elton John/Jamie cullem/Joel/ Ben folds are great great pianists but more rely on the songs they write which all have a pop thread through them. Organ players like jimmy smith/Gregg allman/etc have a special place too. Keys are the bees knees.

Pigpen was my favorite dead keyboardist, but brent is a close 2nd. Brent was a much much better musician and wrote some really heartfelt songs, but pigpen just oozed soul. Apples and oranges really.
