IF you are a fan of AA or Turnpike T., M+W is hosting similar acts in the month of July starting with Thieving Birds this Friday, Six Market Blvd. on the 20th and Jason Eady on the 26th.

All excellent shows. Especially Eady. I'm hoping to make that one...not sure if I will still be in town on Friday but if I am M+W is where I'll be. Whoever is booking these acts is doing a great job

There is, and always has been, a Texas Country music scene that is different than the Nashville scene.

You can call it Alt-Country if that makes you feel better. It blends with alt-country, Americana, red dirt country, and a bunch of other names that mean "not-Nashville" music.

I've had fun before at a couple of Big Freedia shows, one Katy Red.

I'd love to own a country bar and have Texas Country Music Nights.

I'll be there.

(We may or may not be taking the band to the Chimes prior to the show if anyone wants to come say hi and buy shots)

I'm almost positive that every show I've been to at the Varsity and have eaten at the Chimes before, the band playing has been eating there.
