I remember them breaking in to announce it on TV. I'm pretty sure my Mom cried.

My dad is a huge fan and as of late, I have gotten into a lot of his stuff... Really didn't appreciate it until just recently.

Absolutely amazing he never played overseas.

Yes, thats the reason why, the control aspect, but still amazing that Elvis never said "frick you, I'm going to the people"

What happened to Elvis?

He was on fire on his 68 comeback special. Ten years later he was dead.

I’ll never forget…. I was at the public pool and they made the announcement … everyone that was old enough to know who he was just kinda stopped and looked at each other.

Saw this on national TV news. You know someone was a BFD when the national news mentions the anniversary of their death 46 freaking years after they died.

Bullcrap, he aint dead...well, he might be now, since the Russians crashed into the Moon.
Really though, I was working in my Mom's Flowerbed between our driveway and our porch. It hotter than a french girl in a pepper patch.
My Mom comes out on the porch crying that Elvis died.. and I'm like " did we know him?"

I was at grand isle fishing with my dad and his idiot brother …. Elvis was good in his day but he looked horrible for being just 42 when he died…
