So my time has passed and the music I love is not relevant anymore. But, my kids are starting to take a liking to EDM music.

Who would you say would be some artists I should look into? Anyone clean?

Sorry for being clueless. My techno phase went out the window around 03.

Diplo, Martin Garrix, W&W, Martin Solveig (sp), Dmitri Vegas and Like Mike, Allison Wonderland, Nora en Pure, Steve Aoki, Afrojack, Fedde Le Grande

That should hold you over for a while. You could always introduce them to the old school artists too.

Idk if Poolside is considered “EDM” but they’re probably a good transition for what you’re looking for

This isn’t really EDM,’but it’s awesome: burial

Really interesting person and makes statements with his releases.

Rival/dealer is probably my favorite EP.

Zomby, four tet, James Blake are all artists who are similarly doing creative things.

A lot of the big names from late 90s early 00s are still spinning today, although they’ve adopted the more dance/club themed music and ditched the old school trance stuff.

I’m talking about armin van buren, tiesto, Paul Van dyk, etc.

I love the downbeat stuff and have since the early 2000's.

Love Nora En Pure - discovered her from the Sirius Chill station. We listen to her constantly on the Sonos. Chill is a great station but they're getting a little more heavy / poppy lately which is a bummer.

Also I'm pumped to see Thievery Corporation live this fall. Haven't really been to a concert like that before - would love to go to a beach / pool party with Nora En Pure or Kygo type DJ someday as well.

Cheers, mates

Save some time and get yourself a laptop. Watch it play. Repeat.

Sorry to piggyback your post, but I have a question

What type of EDM would someone like Tears of Technology be classified as?

There's more genres here than metal it seems
