My summation of the Eagles is the fact that the only thing I really ever liked by them was the opening riff to "Life In the Fast Lane". And then the worst thing happens after the riff... it turns into an Eagles song.

This was because J.D. Souther and Frey lived upstairs from Browne while he was writing songs. For example, J.D. Souther says if he never hears the opening to Doctor My Eyes again, it will be too soon. For Take it Easy, Frey liked it, but Browne couldn't finish it. So, he went downstairs to help him finish the damn thing so he would move on to play something else.

That's it, I acknowledge they are talented musicians and songwriters, but most of their catalog is just too low energy, I go to their shows to hear Hotel California and the chance that they will do a Joe Walsh/James Gang tune or two.

Just saw them in Houston last weekend. They’re stil badass and sound great. They played for 2.5 hours
