Sweet setup.

Yours?

Picture isn't mine. I had similar components.
Once in college the collaboration of equipment my room mate and I had was downright sick. Pair of Bose 901's with pair of Fischer speakers. Marantz turntable, Onkyo amp and tuner. Fischer dual cassette deck. Fischer equalizer.
My Dad had a sweet Pioneer set up I cranked when the folks were gone.

Rock pretty much died right after 9-11. Along with the rest of American culture.

Video killed the Radio Star

Free form FM opened us up to so much intricacy of the music world. They were enlightening.

True album rock stations gave so much to the music world

Spotify is now the old person's way of finding music. All the kids are using tiktok. Its the main place any new band breaks out and gives some older bands new audiences.

My dad died almost 2 years ago in his late 60s and he was still discovering new hard rock until he was on his deathbed. His thirst for new, interesting music is probably the thing I most often miss. When the new live Riverside album came out, it was bittersweet, because he would have absolutely loved it. It almost makes it hard to listen to

Its only been in the last few years that I've started regularly listening to bands younger than me. I can't imagine I'll ever stop finding new music I enjoy. Don't understand how so many people can call themselves music fans and stay stuck in the past.

IF you listen to internet radio at all and looking for a blast from the old free form days you may like this. Give it a try. If you don't like it didn't cost you a thing. Radio Free Phoenix
