Not sure how I’ve not done a deep dive on Keith Whitley before; but tonight I watched a documentary on his life & have been binging his music.

Tragic story, but wow what a talent.

Any fans here?

“Old Keith Whitley, he died too soon but he’s up there w Hank and they’re both singing the Nashville blues”

Really talented guy. Great voice for country music when it was actually country music. Would have loved to see what he would have continued to do.

Great talent, great voice. Too bad some of today’s Bro Faux’s can’t follow his example.

To this day, I refer to Lori Morgan as the woman who killed Keith Whitley...

Keith had a pretty damn good career before he made it big as a solo artist. Ralph Stantley nabbed him and Ricky Scaggs when they were teenagers and put them in the Clinch Mountain boys. He sang some killer bluegrass throughout the 70's. Hell of a talent. Shame that whore Lorrie Morgan kilt him.

amazing talent.
Miami, My Amy is another great song not mentioned yet.

I assume you aren't a big fan of older country music since you somehow missed one of the all time greats. Lots more to discover in that genre.

I was raised on classic rock and rock n roll.

Only over the last few years have I been exploring country music. It’s been a lot of Hank sr & Jr, David Allan Coe, George Jones, Waylon, Merle etc. throw in some Garth brooks, George strait, Alan Jackson.. idk how I missed Keith Whitley.

Did she cheat on him or something? I'm ignorant.

I didn't see him listed and you might already know of him, but if not check out Vern Gosdin. Great drinking music.
