Nine inch nails - something I can never have, hurt, and all that could have been
Manson - man that you fear, fundamentally loathsome
Nirvana - something in the way
Acid bath - new death sensation
Alice in chains - down in a hole
Queen - who wants to live forever
Etc etc

The one that I use to draw myself out of a melancholy mood are slow... but end well:

Black Light Burns - I am where it takes me (really cool fan-made video)

Lori Carson & Graeme Revell - Fall in the light

Concrete Blonde - Darkening of the Light

Just realized all 3 have the word "light"in 'em.

ETA:

Down in a Hole is a GREAT one.

Also like Interstate Love Song as a "rebounding" tune.

Metallica Unforgiven was played so many times I wore it out at one point.

Sublime isn't exactly depressing. Why does heroin get such a bad reputation?

Quite the opposite. shite is great for writing songs. Then killing you on or soon after 27 years of age. It's a glass is half empty type of thing.

It's also great for writing books, screenplays, comedy bits, poetry, everything. And the subject isn't always a depressing one. It's just a great (maybe a little dangerous) drug for creative types.
