For tone and mood, Gilmore has few peers.
But he didn’t write songs that struck such a nerve.
It took the whole crew to make the music that affected so many. Waters just has never seemed to accept this. Sad. They made so much good music.

It’s so pathetic to see EGO still rule the hearts and minds of elderly men. Nobody cares Roger. Any true Floyd fan can tell very easily who is pulling the strings on any given song anyway. Your spot in the annals of rock is secure, Roger now get over yourself.

Roger is the classic narcissist.

you can always tell who is in the wrong in situations like this by the one that is whining the most. Waters has been doing this shite since he left the band

Just finished the liner notes and I’m not sure if this guy has written notes for any other Floyd releases but jeez...

He sounds like he’s stroking Roger’s ego big time. I mean the notes are slanted to highlight everything Roger did. Did he contribute to ideas for the album? Yes, did he write some parts of some songs and all parts of others? Yes, did he come up with the album cover? Yes he did all of those but the way it’s written is annoying.

Waters was definitely driving the albums/band at this point and it increased with The Wall and totally with The Final Cut.

I missed seeing Floyd for Division Bell and I’m torn about trying to catch Waters before he quits touring.

"That's my giant pig up there."

I can't imagine being a multi millionaire several times over and still acting this damned petty. I want to believe I would just say.........frick it.

Roger Waters...another mouthy “socialist” with an estate in the Hamptons. From what I’ve read, not many could be around the guy long without eventually despising him. His last albums with PF were pushing the band toward a lot of self-indulgent angry ranting. They were and are better off without him.

I disagree. I didn't care for ALOR, but I loved the division bell.

This one is definitely a curiosity, not great but worth a listen every decade.

I’d say this period (Ummagumma) what BEFORE Waters established himself as “Leader of PF”.

These two albums aren’t quite full Floyd, but there are some nice songs and bits from these 2 albums. More so than any of the Waters solo albums.

It is a true shame the parties involved couldn’t have taken a 10 year hiatus and then got back in stride and released some incredible albums.

But truthful were there any prog-rock bands releasing anything good in the late 80s-early 90’s?

Serious question. Hit me up if there were... I love music but I’m humble enough to admit if I’ve missed something.
