Another great "emotional" solo of his in a PF song I've grown to love is "On the Turning Away". The rising tempo of his solo on that song is pure bliss.

Just saw The Wall this weekend in NYC.

Comfortably Numb was still great, the guy was really damn good, but he can't touch Gilmour.

People place too much emphasis on speed when it comes to guitar playing. I wanna hear the notes, I wanna feel something when I listen. Gilmour gives that and more. It's raw emotion, it's just fricking real. One of my idols, one of the greatest ever.

His acoustic version of shine on you crazy diamond is the best. That split signal, playing over a delayed chord sounds so awesome and is fun as shite to play at home.
