Singer-songwriter-guitarist David Crosby, a founding member of two popular and enormously influential ’60s rock units, the Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash (later Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young), has died. He was 81 years old.

As irritating as he could often be, he was a member of America's most influential band, and attention must be paid.

I’m shocked he made it to 81.

I love their music, but this might be a bit exaggerated.
That's not taking away from David Crosby, he's as good as you could get, at the things did. RIP.

America's most influential band
Hugely influential in country rock/Americana/roots music -- especially when you consider The Eagles were a commercialized version of the later Byrds ("Our goal was to avoid making the mistakes The Byrds made", one of them said). Their influence is still being felt today
I stand by the statement
