Article is a few months old but doesnt really matter. Dark Side ranked #1 all time.

Kinda hard to argue that with its success. Almost 900 straight weeks in the top 100. Yea, thats over 16 years without missing a week. Probably will never be surpassed.

since nobody buys physical albums anymore i'd say that's a good guess.

I listened to the entire album yesterday.

I typically listen to it in its entirety 2 or 3 times per month. I wasn't big into the Floyd as a kid, but by my 20s I was just knocked out at how good they really were at their peak.

I listen once a week. It's a masterpiece that far surpasses anything produced in my lifetime. It's so deep and layered..

I've heard it described as a spiritual and emotional portal

Have you seen the documentary on the making of it? Pretty awesome. There may be more than one. This had them explaining various aspects of the album delving into the musical aspect of it, chords, etc.

Highway to Hell Was their best album imo. But AC/DC is more of a "per song" band to me, I'm generally not listening to entire albums

I've watched lots of things about the making of, probably the one you're talking about.

My favorite anecdote is still the Alan Parsons description of micing up the clock shop and syncing up all the alarms to go off at the same time. He had already completed that (for some bizarre, inadequately explained reason) before they all got together to work on DSOM. So, they're working up Time and he tells Roger and David, "I've just done this thing with clocks." David said, "That sounds great, stick it on."

That's arguably the greatest album of all time and arguably the most commercially successful. Try to imagine that song without those clocks or that album without that song.

I have it and The Making of Wish(I think that's what it's called) on my DVR. I am not even that much of a fan and I still enjoy watching both.

The title of this thread totally reads like something the Iron Sheik would say if he was asked to give his review on Dark Side of the Moon.

I do too. Both are pretty amazing and a great insight into the band.

The eeriest thing about the Story of Wish You Were Here is when Syd turned up at EMI unannounced and uninvited and they didn't even recognize him at first.
