Doug stone's pine box is pretty much the definition of a good country song.
That song is really amazing, but I think Keith Whitley really set a standard that hasn't been approached in 30 years.

Doug Supernaw had endless potential. I really wish he wouldn't have lost his damn mind.
Yep. Wish Wade Hayes wouldn't have gotten off track.

I liked it. Also liked Warning Labels, I Never Knew Love, I thought It Was You, In A Different Light, and Little Houses and of course, Faith In Me, Faith In You.

Keith Whitley was freakin awesome. He'll always be a legend.
I really like music by people who lived what they sing. Hence, jamey johnson's stuff about being fricked up over loosing his wife and kid, chris ledoux's rodeo tunes, keith whitley being drunk as shite, etc
ETA: I also like songs that bash the new candy arse generation
Justin McBride-Tough
Dude can't sing worth a damn, but I love the song

I liked it and it might have been because Ive been so hungry that was a taste of the past.
Good jam. So is a Man This Lonely and Neon Moon.
His voice is so fricking smooth.

No doubt. The man is talented as hell. I'd love to see him lead the charge.
Hell I'd like to see anybody lead the charge. Just put on some music with a little soul in it. I just feel like new country has no emotion behind it. There's no backbone to it. It's just empty words.

Depends on what you mean by that. I don't know that he's got a large personality but he has what it takes to stay true to a sound
Believe
Not just anyone can sing like that.

I will say there are certain new songs that I really like just because I can relate to them. I love any music that I can relate to.

I don't know that any artist has the power for that. I think there are artists out there that probably really don't like what's being put out on the radio but they don't call the shots.

Speaking of 90s country, I just picked up some Rick Trevino tickets. He plays out here near Austin pretty often.

What happened to Wade? He was definitely one of my favorites. He played with Randy Owen for a while and I know he just now recovering from colon cancer.
"Old Enough To Know Better"
"On A Good Night"
"I'm Still Dancing With You"
"What I Meant To Say"
And the best..
"The Day That She Left Tulsa"

I'm not sure what happened to him. He had a good kick going at first.
I know supernaw fell off his rocker.

Yea that's kind of sad what happened to him. I think he's in a mental institution now.
"Reno"
"Not Enough Hours in the Night"
"I Don't Call Him Daddy"
"21-17"

Love me some Wade Hayes too. One of the first concerts I ever went to was Wade opening up for Alan Jackson.
One of my favorites from him:
Wade Hayes - Are We Having Fun Yet
