See, that shite wouldn't sell today. I wouldn't want to hear it.

I want to hear something like this:

Loving Blind

Mention something about how big your truck is, say something about how country you are, maybe throw something in about kicking somebody's arse, say LOTS of stuff about being in love with some chick in a high school manner

Plus a heaping pile of love for family and church. Can't have a slow country song without involving God these days.

I love all that shite

That probably wouldn't sell today either though. Even the music of the 90's of certain artist was vastly superior to what's on the radio today.

IE: Clint Black, Travis Tritt, Alan Jackson, George Strait, etc

ETA: You are definitely right though. The sound of pre-80's country music wouldn't sell worth a shite these days.

Yea. I just wish I liked his voice more.

Kevin Denny-That's Just Jessie

What would it take for something like this to make it these days? A time machine?

I'd eat it up. Just like I've eaten up what Ronnie Dunn put out with his solo album last year.

I think it was the greatest era in country history. Certainly my favorite.

It's pretty hard to top the late 70's and early 80's

I do favor the early 90's stuff because it's what I grew up on though. I was probably 18 or 19 before I really started liking outlaw country. I didn't go that route until the radio started sucking.

Yeah, he is pretty hit and miss.

Yea that's good shite.

Shooter has good songs. I just don't care for his voice. I still listen to his music though.

Even toby keith, who is notorious these days for putting out shite music, used to have some good ones.

Who's that man

ETA: The women of the 90's were also soooo much better than these days. Maybe not quite as fun to look at, but they had MUCH better music.

I agree. It is pretty sad when Miranda Lamert's warbly arse is the pinnacle of the female country genre.

K.T.Oslin is the queen of country music, followed by Reba. How can anyone not like You Lie,Last One To Know, Whoever's In New England, The Greatest Man I Never Knew, I know How He Feels?

Damn. I usually like all of your choices... but i hate that one.

The queen of country music in my book is Loretta Lynn
