Wow, Truck Yeah is worse than a Cowboy Troy song.

What happened to these guys...

Tim McGraw - She'll Have You Back

Toby Keith - Who's That Man

Trace Adkins - Every Light In the House is On

I get what yall are saying about Kick it in the Sticks. It aint country at all but it does go over good at his live shows to get the crowd fired up.

What the frick was he thinking when he agreed to sing that?

Brantley writes all of his music

quote:

What record label is he with?

He's with Valory which is part of the Big Machine Group. Can't stand the guy Scott Borchetta, who owns the label, for various reasons. One of them being he's the one who "discovered" Taylor Swift.

Check out these two Brantley songs...

Saving Amy

Agreed. Not a fan of Toby, Tim, or Trace anymore.

The fact that Toby has gone to shite is suprising because I really liked his early stuff. As soon as he started to become a big name I think his writing went downhill fast. Same thing is true of Brad Paisley.

yourself and listen to Back. You know you always wished they'd put some rap in country.

I think I'll pass on that.

Thank for that Jamey Johnson song! I’ve been looking for a good country sound lately. This has a Hank Jr / Merle vibe to it. 2 of the original outlaws!

I read somewhere that "Should Have Been a Cowboy" was the most played song in the radio in 90's of any genre of music.

Has anyone mentioned "Red Solo Cup" yet?

Anyone thought about how most of the "greatest country songs of all time" are sad. I love sad or slow country songs. Now those are few and far between. Also, a lot of the great songs were almost self deprecating to an extent (best way I could describe it). But they evoked more real life emotion, IMO.

That's why I like them. I like music that has meaning. I've never had a drinking problem, never cheated or been cheated on, but when I hear some songs its almost like I can feel what they want you to feel. No other genre does that to me.

Agreed. And I think John Rich tried to explain that to those people on that talent show(it was kinda cheesy) he had on CMT. I had never really thought about it much until he said it. Or I couldnt really explain it.

But I just can't get into rock-a-billy or country rock or whatever alot of stuff is called that is coming out today.

I wonder where the big star potential is these days. I would say that Nashville execs need to do some soul searching but they've been sold out.

:kige:

very few good country artists actually get their music showcased anymore. That or the good ones turn gay.
