Yep.

I can't explain it. I can just recognize it.

I like love songs. Sad love songs. Sad low-med tempo love songs.

Lots of that in the 90s. Probably my favorite right here...

Luke Bryan - What Country Is

Take this off your list. I mean the song is talking about "fake" country people. I'll agree with the rest even though I'll admit I like a couple of others

"Growin up I learned how to hunt and fish.
Bust a 12 guage pump and not miss.
Life without work that's just a myth.
Never listen when they talkin shite.
My dad taught me how to stand my ground.
Be a man boy never back down.
Don't start somethin but if he's talking trash,
betta throw the first punch and whoop his arse."

So many to choose from in that decade. That's why it's my favorite era of country music. I don't think country music was better before then or has been as good since.

Mine is:

She Used To Be Mine

Dunn's vocal prowess was on full display in that song.

Songs about drinking and being country, etc. just don't do anything for me.

After that horrifying Gilbert Brantley song I heard Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood. Then there was some song called "Back" which featured slow country RAP. Blah

I agree the 90s were the best. No way I could pick a favorite song but two of my favorites were..

Shenandoah - Two Dozen Roses
Restless Heart - Bluest Eyes In Texas

Yup. That ones bad.

And I hate demeaning music bc it's subjective. I just miss the country of the 90s.

Brantley Gilbert. Song is Kick it in the Sticks.

Just listened to this. Personally I thought it was terrible, to each his own though.

Since when did riding a bike = country?? Just because you hang out in the woods doesn't mean you are country either. I don't mind BG, he's written some good songs. I just don't his sound and music.

Back to some true country...

This doesn't have good audio quality, but I've always thought this guy sang it better.

Don't dig it but damn, that's another song that I didn't know was produced before someone else got big with it.

Okay, I just listened to that Brantley Gilbert songs about kickin it in the sticks...that is horrible.

What the frick was he thinking when he agreed to sing that? He must be desperate. What record label is he with? The execs all need to be fired ASAP. You would have to pay me a fortune to agree to sing something that funky.

And I listened to that song by Tim McGraw about truck yeah. That is terrible. Just terrible. Same questions go for him.

Treat yourself and listen to Back. You know you always wished they'd put some rap in country.

Timcgraw started his descent into bland soulless pandering music with I Guess it's just the Cowboy in Me. IMO. His earlier stuff is great

Indian Outlaw

I'm an Indian outlaw
Half Cherokee and Choctaw
My baby she's a Chikiwawa
She's one of a kind

All my friends call me Bear Claw
The Village Cheaftin' is my paw-paw
He gets his orders from my maw-maw
She makes him walk the line

You can find me in my wigwam
I'll be beatin' on my tom-tom
Pull out the pipe and smoke you some
Hey and pass it around

'Cause I'm an Indian outlaw
Half Cherokee and Choctaw
My baby she's a Chikiwawa
She's one of a kind

I'm not lookin' for trouble
We can ride my pony double
Make your little heart bubble
God, Like a glass of wine

I remember the medicine man
He caught runnin' water in my hands
Drug me around by my headband
Said I wasn't her kind

Cause I'm an Indian outlaw
Half Cherokee and Choctaw
My baby she's a Chikiwawa
She's one of a kind

I can kill a deer or buffalo
With just my arrow and my hickory bow
>From a hundred yards don't you know
I do it all the time

They all gather 'round my teepee
Late at night tryin' to catch a peek at me
In nothin' but my buffalo briefs
I got 'em standin' in line

Cause I'm an Indian outlaw
Half Cherokee and Choctaw
My baby she's a Chikiwawa
She's one of a kind

Don't know if I'd actually call this GREAT.

Ok Indian Outlaw is not great. It's merely good. It is a weird song.
