Yet still good enough to reach number one on the U.S country chart. Just one of many of his 40 plus number ones.

They do really well with cover songs. They can make a crappy song sound better than the original artist.

It isn't one his better songs but his resume is still rock solid. He died right when his health was getting better and trying to make another comeback in the early 90s.

This version needs more attention. Neal Cassal’s first solo is sublime. It’s Chris Robinson brotherhood doing It’s all over now baby blue

I have always preferred Son Volt's more countrified cover of this song, to the original (Ron Wood). Not a huge departure, but mighty fine nonetheless..

Mystifies Me

This is a hard one actually: "If Loving You Is Wrong I Don't Want To Be Right"

Luther Ingram vs. Millie Jackson vs. Barbara Mandrell

The beat and vocal in the Mandrell version give it a harder sexual feel vs. the straight RB predecessors.

Foxes and Fossils have been one of my YouTube rabbit holes for a while now.

Their versions of songs like We Gotta Get You A Woman, Helplessly Hoping and Amie are incredible.

You have great taste!

Those aren't nearly my favorites. I would start with Sammie: Neon Moon

Maggie (honey in a parking lot): When You Say Nothing at All

Chase (not on the F&F channel): I Can't Make You Love Me

Not to mention the excellent songs featuring Tim.

They are some of the nicest people I've ever met. I aspire to become an "honorary fossil", like Brian Lewis did by sitting in with them on "Amie", and have my daughter become the first "honorary fox".

Buy their CDs, well worth the quality sound, and also includes their first studio song "America", for which there is no video. If your favorites are not on the CDs, let me know...

Dig the Spanish band doing an acoustic version of Wish You Were Here.

Sacrilege, to say it's better, buuuuut.

Are Foxes and Fossils based out of Atlanta? I'd love to see them live some day.

Their harmonies sound as good or better than the originals.
