I believe its Conley. Not only does it sound like he says that but that name would make sense due to the Irish/Scottish background of moonshiners. Plus John Lee is such a generic name. The song is full of innuendo & creativity, hard to believe he would put that much thought into the lyrics then use a generic name. Just my 2 cents.

I think you have John Lee Pettimore confused with John Conlee. John Conlee of course being known for classic country songs such as I Don’t Remember Lovin’ You
