Couldn't help but notice that this thread was lacking in Guy Clark tracks
Hemingway's Whiskey
Randall Knife (live)
Let Him Roll
Guy Clark - Desperados Waiting For The Train
This one is one of my favorite country songs. I love JJW's version, and I posted it earlier. I think Guy's version is a little more haunting for 2 reasons: 1. He wrote the damn song 2. He's very young when he recorded his version, but he still brings the haunting, nostalgic feeling to the song that I love. This track will always remind me of both of my grandpas, and will always hit a deep part of me because of it.

Robert Earl Keen:
Lonely Feeling
Blow you away
Undone (Chris Knight's version is more depressing)

Many that came to mind have already been mentioned, so here's a few more from an old man raised on real traditional country.
Ray Price: Crazy Arms - Heartaches by the Number - City Lights
Webb Pierce: There Stands the Glass & He's got plenty more.
Faron Young: Wine Me Up - Hello Walls - It’s Four in the Morning - and there’s more…
Buck Owens: After You Leave Me - Before You Go - Close Up The Honky Tonks
Gene Watson: Farewell Party, I Never Go Around Mirrors (also by Keith Whitley)
Jerry Lee Lewis: Middle Age Crazy - What Made Milwaukee Famous – Thirty Nine & Holding
Mel Street: Borrowed Angel
David Allan Coe: Jack Daniels If You Please – Play Me A Sad Song
Hank Williams: Too many to list…
Johnny Cash: Sunday Morning Coming Down (Written by Kris Kristofferson), Long Black Veil
If you really want to get more, look up some Lefty Frizzell.

Whoever said Gary Stewart is right on. He's got that whiny, crooner's voice that just evokes images of a depressed guy at the end of a bar drinking whiskey and smoking cigs.
Empty Glass
Your place or mine
She's Acting Single (I'm Drinking Doubles)
Whiskey Trip
Out of Hand
all good songs
