I dig some bluegrass spirituals and gospel.
Christian rock is hilariously bad.

The best is the classics, the old Bach Chorals are simply a religious experience. Look up "Who Puts Their Trust In God Most Just".
Black Gospel music is outstanding stuff. Some of the best drummers in the world play gospel.
As for modern stuff, it's mostly 90's acoustic/alternative sounding crap. With that said, my church growing up's life teen choir was actually an all star swamp pop band of veterans from about half a dozen different successful groups. Hearing religious music in the swamp pop style was actually pretty cool. That horn section was absolutely sick.

I honestly tried to listen to 92.7 one day (is that K-Rock?)
I couldn't make it through an hour. I had to turn it off. It was just terrible music.
I love old time gospel hymns and such, so I'm not anti Christian music.
I went to Healing Place once and the music just killed it for me. Everyone waving their hands in the air...I'll stop now.

Christian music is boring and not all that great because it has boundaries and songs can't just be about "anything." It just doesn't appeal to me.

if you like rock...Red and Skillet are good...someof the rap is very good imho...Lecrae was mentioned previously....there is talent in "Christian" music....but as was mentioned...it isn't the mainstream radio stuff...you have to dig a little...

Anything by Hillsong (Hillsong Worship, Hillsong United, Hillsong Young and Free) is well done and powerful. The same can be said about Jesus Culture, Elevation Worship, Bethel Music, and Leeland.

I've been there a couple of times with some acquaintances. It is pretty intense. Like full on rave intense. The bass was literally shaking the walls and screens. Plus they hand out earplugs when you walk in.

I am a child of the 60s, at college when music was at its best, the 70's. I listen to everything except rap and country. I started listening to Christian music about 12 years ago, oddly when I became a Christian. It has come a long way since then but a lot is repetitious and trite and not inspiring. However, some is good. Love Jeremy Camp, MercyMe, Chris Tomlin, for instance. It's not all I listen to but I do listen quite a lot, probably 50% of the time. I like the way it makes me feel inside, which is what music should do--like the opening of Here Comes the Sun. fwiw

This about sums up "Christian music" for me. I don't get it. I prefer something to be more artistic rather than in my face.
If you want to hear bands that reach into your soul and touch the spirit, try My Morning Jacket - Thank You Too , My Morning Jacket - Steam Engine , Ben Harper - Where Could I Go , Ben Harper - Serve Your Soul
also, believe it or not, Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan is a Christian. Gish is loaded with spiritual songs. I Am One and the incredible Snail

I've always enjoyed Christian music, as I myself am a Christian. I also listen to secular music, so I enjoy both. I'm mainly into rock, so here are the Christian Rock bands I enjoy:
12 Stones
Skillet
Pillar
Demon Hunter
Red
Kutless
Stryper
P.O.D

My favorite artist in the genre is Chris Rice. I often listen to his stuff.
I mainly listen to hip hop in my other musings (Chris Rice is certainly not that) but the genre has some offerings like Lecrae who's been mentioned that are good as well.

Were y'all aware that somehow, Chevelle, was first marketed as Christian music? Listening to some of the songs on the first record, I hear undertones of Christian worship...but I do not think it was done overtly.
Jars of Clay were, too.

I agree with these.
I like for king and country (basically coldplay), trip lee, tedashi, lecrae, flyleaf, fireflight, Chris tomlin, third day, Mark Schultz, casting crowns, mercy me, Jeremy camp.
A bunch of these bands have had a ton of success and top ten billboard releases

Needtobreathe is the only band I listen to that may be considered Christian music.

I did not know this.
U2's "Boy" is a christian record, and this is not widely known.
